Washington, DC (PRWEB) July 13, 2014

The PreK-12 Learning Group of the Association of American Publishers (AAP) is launching its first Fall Policy Exchange, a daylong conference offering insights into critical preK-12 education issues – standards, alignment, and student data privacy – for professionals across the learning resource industry.

The new event will be held Thursday, September 11 in Washington, DC.

Developers of instructional materials have a lot to navigate said Jay Diskey, executive director of the PreK-12 Learning Group. Because of the complex and ever-changing developments in politics, we will focus on key issues led by experts to help industry professionals manage their long-term strategies with greater discernment and efficiency.

Important takeaways for attendees include business strategies to deal with the fluctuations in school policy, content strategies focusing on student achievement over local politics, and development strategies to ensure data-driven results without compromised privacy.

Nathan Gonzales, deputy editor of The Rothenberg Report will be the keynote speaker and will provide insights on the mid-term elections.

Other speakers and moderators include Ezra Dodd Church of Morgan Lewis, Maria Fergusun of The Center for Education Policy at George Washington University, Aimee Rogstad Guidera of Data Quality Campaign, and Mark Schneiderman of The Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA).

Sessions include Navigating the Student Data Privacy Jungle, Common Core Implementation: Whats the Future of the Core? and Redefining the Student Data Privacy Conversation.

The event will be held at the Capital Hilton in downtown Washington, DC from 8:45 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Registration and breakfast start at 7:30 a.m. Those interested in attending can register online at http://www.AEPweb.org.

About Nathan Gonzales

Nathan Gonzales is deputy editor of The Rothenberg Political Report, a non-partisan political publication covering presidential politics and the House, Senate, and gubernatorial campaigns. He has been with RPR for more than a decade and takes a descriptive instead of a prescriptive approach to the politics du jour, saying that RPR describes what is happening in the world of politics in order to project the results. Exclusively represented by Leading Authorities speakers bureau, Gonzales is a young, fun speaker, full of energy, enthusiasm, and incredible insights about politics. He uses easy-to-understand stories and analogies to both clarify and enliven his political stories and analysis.

In addition to editing RPR, Gonzales is also a contributing writer forRoll Call, the Capitol Hill newspaper; a political contributor for NBCLatino.com; and the founder and publisher of PoliticsinStereo.com, which features state-based political news from the left, the right, and non-partisan sources. Since 2002, Gonzales has also worked as an off-air consultant for ABC NEWS on their Election Night Decision Desk. Before The Rothenberg Political Report he worked for CNN.com and as associate producer for CNNs Capital Gang.

Gonzales has been quoted in The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, and USA Today, as well as in numerous state and regional newspapers across the country. He has also appeared on MSNBCs Daily Rundown, CNN, Fox News Channel, and other local network affiliates.
